What type of role a nanny can play?

Who is a nanny? If this question is asked from a layman, then his reply would be a person, mainly a woman responsible to take care of the little one at home, during the absence of his parents. Well, an answer to this question is correct, but now if we modify this question in a broader sense, that what are the different types or what types of services are offered by the nanny? Then, most of the people will not be able to answer this question, because for them every person taking care of a child while his parents are out is a nanny.

Going, through the concern of such persons, today we are discussing the types of nannies available in the market, after which, depending upon their requirement they can hire the services of a particular nanny for their child.
 

1. Nanny Housekeepers: This category of nanny is capable of doing all the tasks related to the care of a child and at the same time also the housekeeping task when the child does not require her service. Here, one thing which needs to be noted is to let the nanny make clear about housekeeping services that she would be required to do along with her services as a nanny because the charges of a nanny housekeeper are quite higher than the charges charged by a nanny.
2. Live in Nanny: There are lots of people who feel that hiring a live-in nanny is the same hiring a servant to do home tasks, this is mainly because the nanny offering the service of live-in stays in the same house with the children throughout the day. However, there are lots of nannies who perform the housekeeping tasks, but then they are recognized as nanny housekeepers and not as a live-in nanny. The main role performed by this category of nanny is to look after the child, even when his parents are back to home, besides this she is also responsible for changing the diapers in the midnight and also feeding the little one during the night when his parents are sleeping. Along with this, she is also responsible for cooking the necessary meals for the child, washing his clothes, helping him in doing his homework (if he is a school going kid), going out with the child, playing with him. In short, she lives with the child throughout the day and looks after his every little need.
3. Live out Nanny: This category of nanny works five days a week and look after the basic needs of a child starting from changing his diapers to making him learn the etiquettes of getting socialized with other people. They do not live with the child throughout the day and do not offer any type of additional services related to the home tasks. They are trained professionals with vast knowledge about childcare and leave the child as soon as any of his parents are back home.
4. Summer Nannies: There are lots of working parents who need someone to look at their child after he returns from school or when their summer vacations are running. In short, the summer nannies are mainly hired for mature or school-going children who require less care than compared to toddlers. The main responsibilities of these nannies include serving food to the kids, helping them in their studies, keeping watch on their activities and normal care according to the existing situations. These nannies mainly work on an hourly basis, and therefore their charges are quite lesser than a live-in or live-out nanny.
