Determining rules for the nannies

Congratulations on hiring a nanny of your choice to take care of your child while you go out to accomplish your professional responsibilities. But, are you ready to welcome her and prepared to leave your child under supervision. Because, it is seen that in the beginning everything sounds going smoothly between the nanny and parents, but as the days passes the debate on small matters like coming late to the job, or leaving early or requesting the nanny to do some housekeeping tasks in your absence, etc starts. It is the time when you immediately call the agency from where you have hired the nanny to complain about her services.

Always remember that nanny agencies only provide the details of the registered nannies with them after conducting proper check about their personal, professional and criminal records, they have nothing to do with the terms and conditions determined between both of you. However, in case of any complaint, they will provide you the facility of interviewing the other available nannies to select, but cannot force the nanny working at your home to change her attitude. To avoid any such problem with your nanny try to establish some rules with her from the very first day she comes to work at your home, or even discuss the same at the time of interview.

Now the question arises what rules you should determine for the nanny to follow during your absence. An answer to this question mainly depends upon your preferences, because each family has its ethics and limitations, yet there are some rules which are common in almost all the families. Therefore, you can also use them for enjoying the tension-free services of the nanny hired by you.
  1. Privacy: Every family needs privacy on various matters for instance their financial position, the personal differences between the family members of certain issues, etc. As the nanny will be staying in your house for a long period, there are chances the somehow these matters will be discussed in front of her also. You should make sure that she does not disclose such matters out of the home with others. Here, one thing which needs to be mentioned here, more importantly, is that today going through the excessive use of social media platforms people prefer to share their pictures if you are comfortable with this, then you can ask your nanny to go for it.
  2. Inside the house: There are some segments of the house where you will not prefer the nanny to move in. If you have any such room, do let her know in the beginning so that she does not move there. However, while doing this also do tell her the reason so that she does not feel embarrassed.
  3. Not using gadgets: Nowadays, mobile phones have emerged as the best entertainers and never let a person feel bore. Going through this reason you can see every person busy in texting or streaming videos or listen to the music of choice throughout the day. This can be risky for your children because if a nanny is busy on her mobile there are chances that your child may do anything such which can be harmful to him. To control any such even, make sure that she does not uses her mobile for such tasks.
  4. Driving rules: If your nanny has to drop your child to his school by driving your car, make sure that she carries a valid license and also she has the proper knowledge of dealing with common technical problems so that your child does not suffer in case of an emergency.

Besides, these rules, you can determine rules according to requirements while hiring the nanny from any of the nanny agencies in North West.
